Charles C. Lynch Protest

This session I have been taking my second documentary class,
and I have been working on a story about a man by the name of
Charles C. Lynch. I had the great pleasure of meeting this man
and interviewing him for the documentary. Here are a few stills
I shot at a rally held for him in Los Angeles... (the color looks flat,
open file to see the pretty colors)

Batch caption:

Protesters gather in front of the Federal Courthouse in Los Angeles, Calif., Monday afternoon, Oct. 6, 2008 to protest the persecution of former medical marijuana dispensary owner Charles C. Lynch. Although the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes is legal under California State law, in Federal Court, California laws do not apply. Lynch has been convicted under five counts including selling to minors, cultivating more than 100 plants, operating a business location, conspiracy to distribute marijuana, and distribution of marijuana. He is awaiting his court appointment to appeal the charges on Nov. 17, 2008. If his request is denied, Lynch will be sentenced in federal court on Nov. 24, 2008 and may face up to 100 years in prison. (Photo by Rachelle Hacmac/Brooks Institute ©2008)

Charles..

Fire TIme

I shot a fire at the Ventura River bottom a few weeks ago.
After climbing through a drainpipe under Highway 33 to get to the fire
(completely unnecessary but fun), I had a blast shooting the fire.
Here are a few shots.

Nasty drainpipe...

Yoko

This is a picture story I shot on Yoko Tatsuta, a woman who coordinates the visit to the USA for international students for EF Educational Homestays Program. She spent months planning for the 3 weeks her group of Chinese students would be here. Her dedication to this job stems from her passion to help international students bridge the culture gap between countries. An international student herself, Yoko came to the USA when she was around 20 and is now studying to be a high school counselor for international students.
I had fun shooting this story, here are the images and multimedia.

Normandy D-Day Beach

I came across some old photos I shot several years ago with my old 35mm Sigma at the Normandy D-Day Beach. It was a perfect foggy/rainy day for visiting this area.

PDX Airport

I love shooting in PDX because of the beautiful light. I took these while waiting to board my flight back to Burbank yesterday evening.
